Howdy! We’re Seth and Zac Longaker, brothers and founders of Acre Largo Tequila. How did we get here? Well, back in 1997, we started Oddball.com, a shoe company for guys with big feet—mostly because we couldn’t find shoes that fit. A personal frustration turned into a business built on hard work, good people, and a few good laughs along the way.
Funny thing is, we never planned on getting into the beverage world. But sometimes life throws something at you that just feels… right. Tequila found us, and it stuck.
Running a business for almost 30 years can get a little stale. While Oddball has been such a big part of who we are, we felt there was still something left to do—a void we wanted to fill. We wanted to create something of our own, something we could be proud of, and bring to life on our terms. That idea led to a new line of handmade footwear. And the opportunity to make it happen? It just happened to be in Mexico.
Our love for Mexico goes way back—to our college days in San Diego. We spent a lot of time across the border and fell in love with its people, its food, and yes, its tequila! Landing in León, Guanajuato, to work on our shoes reignited that sense of excitement—the thrill of being somewhere new and creating something meaningful. Over several trips back and forth, we built a great friendship with the family helping us, sharing meals, laughs, and a few adventures along the way. They suggested we meet a close family friend in the tequila business—they thought we’d hit it off.
They were right. One evening, on a rooftop café in León, the three of us shared stories, sipped tequila, and by the end of the night, we were planning a trip into the highlands of Jalisco to see where the adventure might lead.
That trip took us to a small, family-run distillery outside Jesús María called Hacienda El Olvido. That’s where we met the López sisters and their mom—a family who’d been making tequila the traditional way for decades. We shared meals, laughed a lot, and spent long afternoons tasting tequila. Friendship turned into partnership.
And that’s how Acre Largo came to be. No big plan, no marketing scheme—just good people, a little serendipity, and what began as a late-night conversation with a new friend has evolved into a tequila that honors tradition while embracing the spirit of adventure. Acre Largo is more than just a spirit—it’s a tribute to craftsmanship, culture, and the pursuit of something truly extraordinary.
